Why CLAAS for Hay and Silage?
Forage Harvesters
A variety of front attachments and corncrackers allow the JAGUAR to adapt to the requirements of any forage harvesting situation. CLAAS forage harvesters embody a combination of experience and innovation to optimise your harvest. Crop flow, POWER TRAC 4-wheel drive, and the practical assistance systems make the JAGUAR forage harvester your first choice, every time.
Mowers
For the best cut, in all conditions. The CLAAS DISCO mower ensures fast, reliable and safe mowing.
Whether a front or a rear mower – you can always rely on the DISCO. The front mower is gentle on forage because you do not drive over the crop with the tractor before cutting. The crop is cut cleanly and can be swathed to the side. A rear mower is more effective if you mow in difficult terrain, such as grassland with many trees, ditches or embankments. Many farmers also use a combination of the two for large areas. A front mower, combined with and a large rear mower from the CLAAS DISCO range make an unbeatable team for effective forage harvesting.
Tedders
Grass harvest is the time to consider a hay tedder. These machines ensure that the cut grass dries quickly and optimally. From the compact VOLTO 45, to the trailled VOLTO 1300 T, CLAAS has a tedder to suit every need, working width and field size. Up to ten rotors ensure efficient operation in the field. All VOLTO models are equipped with MAX SPREAD rotor technology. With this crop flow concept, CLAAS has revolutionised tedding technology.
The outstanding feature of this technology is that the tine arms are angled backwards by 29.3°, making it easy to turn even leafy forage. The benefits of MAX SPREAD include high raking performance, gentle forage transfer between the rotors, and an optimised spreading pattern. The result, increased output and better quality of work.
Swathers
The key to high-quality grass silage lies in keeping the crude ash content as low as possible, because crude ash impairs silage quality. Heavy contamination with dirt leads to greater energy losses and poorer protein quality of the forage – reducing milk yield.
The crude ash content depends on low contamination with soil during the harvest. CLAAS swathers adapt perfectly to ground contours thanks to the rotor chassis, which is positioned close to the tine orbit. The cardan system, with double-pivot joint, ensures a particularly wide range of movement preventing damage to the sward and reducing crop contamination.
Balers
Farmers and contractors have different requirements when it comes to the use, format and size of bales. That’s why CLAAS has a variety of balers – the QUADRANT square baler, the ROLLANT, and the VARIANT round baler, in a wide range of models and bale diameters. Our state-of-the-art balers are designed to process your crop efficiently and produce high-quality bales.
