Maximum performance in the bale chamber. The hydraulic bale density control system has been specially developed for maximum compaction in all conditions. The active hydraulic system combines three hydraulic cylinders with a double tensioning arm system to provide actively controlled guidance and smooth operation.

Delivering high performance is a strength of the VARIANT. Fast wrapping/ tying within 6 seconds combined with high tailgate opening and closing speeds delivers high throughputs and reduces downtimes. Moreover, the special active rotor from CLAAS ensures a 100% bale start so you can run the VARIANT continuously at maximum speed.

With a working width of 2.10 m, the pick-up collects even the widest swaths. The new standard pick-up is equipped with four tine rows, while the new HD pick-up has five. Spring tines positioned close together and a flexible frame enable optimal ground adaptation and high pick-up capacity. The result is a thoroughly cleared field in all operating conditions.

The heavy-duty drive concept in the VARIANT 585 and 565 models makes these machines ideal for tough working conditions. This is because of the 8-mm-thick, fourstar dual tines, the ultra-robust individual knife guard and knife bracket. Cutting quality therefore remains excellent.
