I instantly knew there was something different!

CLAAS by far is way up there, if not number one, it’s pretty close!

Having such a large supply of parts, a great service team, and skilled technicians gives us peace of mind that the CLAAS Harvest Centre wants to do the best by its customers and is putting its own money on the line in stock and product.

Unbeatable service

We recently updated our tractor, purchasing CLAAS meant changing tractor brands.

What sold it to us was the unbeatable service we received during the purchasing process and the aftersales backup and support.

The ARION 660 fits really well in our arable operation, the C-Matic transmission, nice ride and roomy cab makes it an enjoyable machine to drive.

A league of its own

We are not colour-blind when it comes to machinery – we buy what’s best for the job and where we see value, service and back-up,” Craig says.

“Everything breaks down and what happens next is the difference.

A couple of years ago, I contacted one of their service technicians on a Sunday morning and he not only answered the phone, but he also organised the parts for us and had us going by lunchtime the next day.

That sort of service sells machines.

Geared up for Success

“I have never been guilty of procrastination,” Greg says. “I needed a new spreader and I needed to replace my existing seeder. I was comfortable with CLAAS Harvest Centre in Echuca, so I decided to go with them.

The pending arrival of the Seed Hawk meant a new tillage tractor was also in order.

I’ve always tried to buy the model that’s coming, not the one that’s been, so again, we just jumped in,” he says.

In some ways, moving to the XERION was an even bigger leap of faith than moving to the LEXION but the level of service we have received from the team at CLAAS has been first-rate.

Once you go trac, you won’t go back

The difference [after upgrading to the AXION 960TT] was immediately noticeable.

We were on the paddock ripping at a rate of 2-3km with our wheeled tractor before swapping to the TerraTrac demo unit, which managed 8km without any slip and greater traction. It completely outperformed my tired machine.

We have completed two seedings and have done this with half the fuel, averaging 30L/hr over 500 hours, it’s meant some unexpected cost savings.

In addition, we have been surprised by the in-cab suspension, it’s way more comfortable than our other tractors, and we weren’t expecting that.

Old Fox, New Tricks

After suffering a catastrophic breakdown in the middle of sowing the CLAAS Harvest Centre team were able to arrange a XERION 5000 to be delivered that afternoon and Dave, the farm’s resident tractor driver, was soon back at work.

Murray gave me a crash course about how to drive it and off I went,” Dave says.

“We were in a hurry, so I set the cruise control at 13 km/h and it took off up the hill without missing a beat – same equipment, same paddock. I thought, ‘This can’t be right’. Our old tractor was flat out going 10 km/h! It wasn’t even set-up properly.
